Two car crashes occurred on County Home Road in the same area on Monday night, injuring three people.
At about 6:55 p.m., officials with multiple emergency agencies responded to reports of a two-vehicle accident at County Home Road and Lucore Road. The vehicles had collided and came to rest in the travel lanes. Officials determined that a vehicle driven by Lindsey Sidman of Marion, failed to stop at a stop sign while she was driving northbound on Lucore Road. That vehicle struck another driven by Melissa Roob of Central City.
Sidman, along with Roob and a 13-year-old passenger, were transported to local hospitals in Cedar Rapids with non-life-threatening injuries.
Sidman was given a citation for failure to obey a stop sign and yield right of way.
Following the initial crash, a secondary accident took place just to the west on County Home Road. A vehicle driven by Brent Boies of Marion, was rear-ended by another operated by Amelia Matthess of Anamosa.
No injuries were reported in the second accident. Matthess was given a citation for failure to stop in assured clear distance.
