IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The Big Ten Conference named junior Jenny Kimbro Female Track Athlete of the Week on Wednesday. It is the first of her career.
Kimbro won the 60-meter hurdles (8.34) at the Jimmy Grant Invitational on Saturday, ranking third all-time in the event. She also ran the first leg in the 1,600-meter relay team that placed third (3:53.93). In the long jump competition, Kimbro placed third (5.54m, 18-2 1/4).
Kimbro is the first Female Track Athlete of the Week for Iowa this season and the first Hawkeye to earn the honor since Brittany Brown on March 21, 2018.
Iowa hosts the Hawkeye Invitational, the second of four 2018-19 home meets, January 11-12.
