The highway will be usable by drivers beginning at around 4 p.m. The final four miles of four-lane road completes a full beltway around the Cedar Rapids metro area, when combined with U.S. Highways 30 and 151 on the south and east sides.
A ribbon cutting for the project was held on Dec. 1, and the first segment of the extension opened in Dec. 2016.
