Jury finds Jones Guilty of IC cab driver Murder

It took a jury about an hour Tuesday to find Curtis Jones guilty of killing an Iowa City cab driver.

The Mount Pleasant man was on trial for the first degree murder of 46-year-old Ricky Lillie.

Jones was riding in Lillie's cab in June 2017 when he shot Lillie and robbed him. Jones, who's 42, now faces life in prison without parole. His sentencing will be on January 4.

Jones is also facing a first degree murder charge for the death of 34-year-old Jonathan Wieseler. He was an Iowa City bail bondsman who was killed in April 2017. That trial is scheduled to begin January 11 in Polk County.
