Johnson County will be holding a special election on December 18 for the vacancy on the Board of Supervisors.
The election was set by a committee to fill the two years that were remaining on Kurt Friese's term. Friese died on October 26.
The filing deadline for the special election is November 26 at 5 p.m.
Full status political parties will need to nominate candidates by convention to be considered. Candidates not representing the full status parties may file with 250 signatures.
The deadline for voter pre-registration and to request a mailed absentee ballot is 5 p.m. December 7.
For the special election the last day to vote early will be December 17 at the auditor's office.
Polls for the special election will then be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on December 18.
