Firefighters responded Wednesday evening to a fire that injured two people at a home in the 2900 block of Katie Lane, near Belmont and Middle Roads.
TV6 viewers reported seeing multiple fire, police, and medical vehicles, and a medical helicopter was spotted at the scene at around 7 p.m.
The Bettendorf Fire Chief said flames broke out as family members were celebrating a religious holiday with candles.
One person caught fire, and a second person was also burned while trying to assist the first.
One of the victims was taken by ambulance to a local hospital and the other was flown to Iowa City for treatment.
Firefighters had left the scene by 7:15 p.m.
