CRST Expedited Inc. has honored 17 drivers for driving more than a million miles accident-free.
CRST International President and CEO Hugh Ekberg, COO Mike Gannon and their leadership team joined 300 CRST Expedited team members at a reception for the million-mile honorees and their families at Theater Cedar Rapids (TCR) last month.
“Senior leadership enjoyed the opportunity to meet with these million-milers, recognize their contributions and gain their direct insight on best practices in our safety-first culture," Cameron Holzer, the president of CRST Expedited said.
Among the people honored at the event was Gilbert Weekley from West Virginia, who has been driving for CRST the past 32 years. During the event, he was honored for driving 4 million miles without an accident.
“I always tell drivers to remember their comfort zone, keep your guard up and always stay one step ahead. And don’t forget to use a lot of common sense. If you can handle driving a truck, you can handle just about anything," Weekley said.
