The City of Cedar Rapids surpassed last years total by $130 million for the total reported valuation of building permits.
In the fiscal year 2018, the total value of building permits was $376 million, which broke the record set in 2012 by $29 million.
The top 20 projects in this fiscal year including work in public and private developments range in size from $4 million to $24 million.
For the year new commercial, single family, and multi-family construction made up for $183 million and renovations, additions, and reparis made up $193 million.
