Fayette Co. Barn Fire to Burn for Days

FAYETTE COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- Authorities say a fire that destroyed a Fayette County barn Tuesday morning will continue to burn for a couple of days.

Firefighters from West Union and Clermont were called to 7304 Harding Road, Highway 18, at around 7:50 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a barn on fire.

Deputies from the Fayette County Sheriff's Office arrived, they found a barn full of hay and equipment on fire.

Due to construction on Highway 18, deputies performed traffic control to get them to the fire.

No injuries were reported. Authorities say the barn and equipment are a total loss.

The Fayette County Sheriff's Office says the fire will burn for a couple of days in a controlled setting.
