CRPD Arrests Suspect After Asking for Public ID

The Cedar Rapids Police Department requested the public's assistance in the identification of a theft suspect yesterday.

The suspect allegedly used a stolen credit card to purchase items at several southwest side convenience stores on August 9, 2018. Within two hours of sharing information and surveillance photographs on social media and through local media, the Police Department received a tip that helped investigators identify the suspect.

Officers arrested Sharon Maureen Halstead, age 48, of Cedar Rapids for False Use of a Credit Card.

The Police Department is appreciative of the public’s assistance in this case.
