Marion PD: Drunk Driver Runs over Passenger

MARION, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- An intoxicated driver ran over the arm of a passenger who had fallen out of the vehicle, according to the Marion Police Department.

Officers said it happened about 3:50 p.m. Tuesday. They located the vehicle parked on the street in front of 1041 Seventh Street, with a 34-year-old male laying on the curb with his feet still inside the passenger side.

Officers stopped behind the vehicle and the driver, 36-year-old Andrew Dvorsky, began to slowly drive forward, running over the man's arm. Dvorsky then turned into the driveway of the house and drove through the closed garage door.

Officers arrested Dvorsky on operating while intoxicated, reckless driving, driving while license revoked, open container, and failre to have proof of insurance charges.

Emergency responders took the passenger to a hospital for treatment. An officer took Dvorsky to the hospital after he complained of pain while being taken to the Linn County Jail. Officers said Dvorsky was held at the hospital for medical observation.
