Hiawatha Ministry Files for Banruptcy

THE HIAWATHA MINISTRY EMBROILED IN THE IOWA COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK SCANDAL THIS YEAR IS FILING BANKRUPTCY.  

WIND AND FIRE MINISTRIES WAS FOUNDED BY THE FORMER ICN EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, RIC LUMBARD, WHO DIED JULY 25TH.  

IN A BANKRUPTCY FILING IN US DISTRICT COURT IN CEDAR RAPIDS, WIND AND FIRE LISTED NEARLY 1.5 MILLION DOLLARS IN DEBT. THOSE WERE FROM LOANS BY INDIVIDUAL IOWANS.  THEY ONLY HAVE 568 THOUSAND DOLLARS IN ASSETS, ACCORDING TO THE FILING.  

LUMBARD WAS FIRED EARLIER THIS YEAR FROM HIS JOB AT THE ICN AFTER A STATE AUDIT QUESTIONED HIS SPENDING OF NEARLY 380 THOUSAND DOLLARS IN TAXPAYERS' MONEY.  

THE AUDIT SAID SOME OF THE AGENCY PURCHASES WENT TO WIND AND FIRE MINISTRIES.
