A car drove into the Brewed Awakenings coffee shop off of First Avenue near downtown Cedar Rapids at about 9:25 this morning.
The vehicle was headed westbound on First Avenue approaching the intersection of 13th St. and found the traffic was stopped. It turned right and drove over the curb up through a bus stop sitting there and crashed into the front window.
Structural damage has been reported including a plate glass window.
The driver then put the vehicle in reverse and turned the corner taking out two separate traffic signs as they drove the wrong way up the sidewalk on 13th St. They eventually took off on Mount Vernon Rd., SE.
No one was injured.
