American Idol winner Maddie Poppe will be recognized during opening ceremonies at the Iowa State Fair at 9 a.m. Thursday, August 9.
The Clarksville native made history in May when she became the first Iowan to win American Idol, winning a recording contract and a $250,000 cash prize.
The opening ceremonies will take place in the newly renovated Grandstand on the Kum & Go stage, allowing fairgoers their first look at the new facilities.
