CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- The annual St. Ludmila Kolach Festival returns for another year this weekend with all your favorite fruit-filled pastries.
The Kolach Festival began over 45 years ago to help bring together St. Ludmila parishioners, families and friends to enjoy family-friendly activities.
The proceeds from the festival also help pay for programs and repairs to needed to the church.
Each year volunteers work together now to make over 5,000 dozen homemade kolaches to sell.
The three day festival not only brings these sweet treats, but it'll feature the Cherry Car Show, carnival rides, kiddieland, and live music from The Gamblers, Czech Plus Band, Crash Trash Can Drumline, and more.
The festival kicks off Friday, June 8th and continues Saturday, June 9th and Sunday, June 10th.
The Kolach Festival Drive Up begins Friday, June 8th from 6:00 am – 9:00 am in the St. Ludmila Church parking lot 211 21st Avenue SW, just off J Street.
People can drive through the festival grounds and purchase kolaches without having to leave their car.
