Franklin County Sheriff Linn Larson lost his battle with cancer this week. He died Tuesday at the age of 59.
Larson had been the Franklin County Sheriff since December 2016.
He started a career in law enforcement 40 years ago as a police officer in nearby Belmond, where he became the police chief in 1983.
Larson's funeral is at 1 p.m. Friday at Church of the Living Word in Hampton. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church.
