A judge sentenced a Buchanan County man to 10 years in prison for lascivious acts with a child.
A judge found Joseph Banks, 35, of Hazleton, guilty of the charge in July 2017. Prosecutors said in November 2016 Banks fondled or touched the genitals of a child under the age of 14 for the purpose of sexual gratification, according to the Buchanan County Attorney.
Following his prison term, Banks must register on the sex offender registry for life. He will also be required to pay fines, provide a specimen for DNA profiling, and complete sex offender treatment.
