MARION, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- The Linn-Mar school district may soon be looking for a new superintendent. It's current superintendent is the lone finalist for the superintendent position in Victoria, Texas.
The district announced the selection of Quintin Shepherd, Ph.D. Tuesday after a nation-wide search, according to a news release.
“As a Board we gave serious consideration to the input from our community. And, we believe Dr. Shepherd’s experience and proven successes meet our community’s desired expectations,” said Board President Ross Mansker.
Shepherd has worked in the Linn-Mar district for three years.
"It is my humble honor to be selected as the lone finalist for the Victoria Independent School District Superintendent position. In the last several weeks learning about the community and the school district, I am very excited to continue the great work already happening and excited to live the VISD Vision every child, every classroom, every day! My family and I are eager to move to Victoria and begin meeting the community in earnest," Shepherd said.
According to the news release, Shepherd and the district are expected to sign a contract on May 15 after a required 21 day waiting period. Shepherd would begin as the superintendent in the Texas school this summer.
Victoria, Texas is about 2 hours southeast of San Antonio.
