QUOTING HEAD COACH MEGAN MENZEL

“The team worked hard today.  We feel like we put ourselves in a nice spot after day one.  There was a lot of good today, Ip and Rennegarbe were so steady and Kristin showed up big for her team and battled through some illness and posted a really solid round. Kukla settled in on the back nine and played well.  The freshmen had some good stretches and we continue to be excited about their growth and competitive spirits. We are focused and eager to keep battling this week.”

QUOTING IP

“It was a very clean round of golf today since I didn't get into much trouble, so it was good to have momentum going into each hole.  I was consistent with my driver and had confidence in my short game, so I didn't worry when I missed the green. I was able to take advantage of birdie opportunities and feeling good with my putter makes all the difference. The conditions were pretty good, just a little bit windy, but it's a good start to the tournament and I'm looking forward to tomorrow.”
