IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Iowa baseball team hosts Northern Illinois on Tuesday at Duane Banks Field. First pitch is scheduled for 4:05 p.m. (CT).
The Hawkeyes enter the midweek game following a two-game split against Nebraska on April 13. Iowa won the first game, 7-1, before falling, 10-4, in the second game. Sunday’s series finale was cancelled due to inclement weather.
Iowa has won its last four midweek games, moving its record to 5-2 this season. The Hawkeyes average nine runs per game and have a 4.00 team ERA.
Tyler Cropley leads the Hawkeyes with a .350 batting average; the senior has four home runs and leads the squad with 29 RBIs and 13 doubles. Junior Robert Neustrom is hitting .344 and leads Iowa with six home runs.
Northern Illinois brings an 11-23 record to Iowa City after dropping a three-game series against Kent State this past weekend. Senior Brad Wood leads the Huskies with a .400 slugging percentage with two home runs and eight doubles.
The Huskies will send right-hander Blake Walker to the mound. The sophomore is 1-1 with a 3.38 ERA in seven appearances. He has allowed eight runs on 15 hits in 16 innings of work.
Iowa owns a 22-9 lead in the all-time series over Northern Illinois. The Hawkeyes defeated the Huskies, 12-8, in Iowa City in 2017.

Following the midweek game, the Hawkeyes travel to Minneapolis for a three-game series against No. 25 Minnesota. Friday’s series opener is set for 6:30 p.m. (CT).
