A Charles City man has died after a bus hit his vehicle after he failed to stop at a stop sign, according to the Iowa State Patrol.
Troopers said it happened about 8:30 a.m. yesterday morning at 270th Street and Packard Avenue, which is 11 miles west of Nashua.
According to a report, 72-year-old Harold Vermeer was driving an SUV south on Packard Avenue and entered into the path of a westbound bus. The bus driver went to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
The patrol said troopers are still investigating the crash.
