@SASHASCHMID ON ENDING ROAD STRETCH
“This is another great opportunity this weekend at Nebraska. They have had a great season, and we are expecting a really competitive match. We are hoping to end our road streak on a good note before we return home next weekend to finish out Big Ten play.”
HAWKEYES ON THE ROAD
Iowa’s match at Nebraska is its fifth straight on the road. The Hawkeyes are 4-8 on the road. Three of their losses are to teams ranked 33rd or higher. Iowa broke a 19-year losing streak at Notre Dame on the road on March 3, and earned wins at Montana, SMU, and Rutgers.
HAWKEYES THRIVE IN DOUBLES
Iowa has grabbed the doubles point in 13 of its 21 matches, winning 10 of the 13 matches they were awarded the doubles point. The Hawkeyes have at least a .500 win percentage at each of the three doubles positions. The No. 1 position leads with a .667 win percentage, and the No. 2 position follows with .632, giving the team a .600 win percentage in doubles.
DOMINATING DOUBLES DUO
The Hawkeyes are 6-2 when No. 68 sophomore Elise van Heuvelen and senior Anastasia Reimchen win their doubles match. The duo is 8-3 when paired together this season. They have led the Hawkeyes in doubles, posting a 5-3 record at the No. 1 position and a 3-0 record at the No. 2 position, including a win over the No. 13 ranked doubles team from No. 14 Northwestern.
TAKING ON THE HUSKERS
Saturday’s match is the 27th matchup between Iowa and Nebraska. The Hawkeyes beat the Huskers, 4-3, last season. Iowa leads the all-time series, 18-8.
