Marengo Woman Charged with Theft, Forgery

MARENGO, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- A Marengo woman has been arrested after allegedly stealing checks.

Authorities say 23-year-old Mckenna Hunter stole, forged, and then cashed checks at a Coralville bank.

Court documents say Hunter first cashed a stolen and forged check at the U.S. Bank on 10th Avenue on November 9.

During the four months after the first incident, Hunter allegedly forged four more checks and cashed them at the bank.

Hunter has been accused of stealing $1,875. She has also been charged with five counts of Forgery and one count of 2nd Degree Theft.
