IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Iowa men's tennis team shutout South Dakota State in a pair of matches Sunday afternoon at the Hawkeye Tennis & Recreation Complex. The Hawkeyes won all three matches on Sunday, including their Big Ten match against Northwestern (4-1) earlier in the day. In the first match against South Dakota State, all six Hawkeyes won in straight sets in singles action. In doubles competition, Jake Jacoby and Joe Tyler won their sixth straight decision, extending Jacoby’s career long doubles match win streak.
In the second match of the doubleheader, Iowa cruised to a 6-0 victory to cap a successful Easter Sunday. Freshmen Will Davies recorded his 12th win of his last 15 decisions. Sophomore Jason Kerst also extended his career match win streak to five after sweeping South Dakota State.
