IC Ped Mall Shooter Asking for New Trial

IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- The man convicted of killing one man and hurting two others in a shooting on the Iowa City Pedestrian Mall wants a new trial.

Last month, a jury found Lamar Wilson guilty of voluntary manslaughter and other charges. Prosecutors had originally charged him with first degree murder and other more serious charges.

Wilson shot and killed 22-year-old Kaleek Jones last August. He also injured two other men.

Wilson wants a new trial for several reasons. The attached document lists all of them.
