IOWA CITY, Iowa -- University of Iowa field hockey freshman goalkeeper Grace McGuire was named to the U-19 Women’s National Team, the organization announced Wednesday.
McGuire, a native of St. Louis, Missouri, will join 19 other women for the Ireland Tour from March 21-29.
McGuire is a 2016 AAU Junior Olympic Gold Medalist and participated in the National Futures Championship in 2016. She is a three-time all-conference honoree at Nerix Hall high school, while tallying 49 career shutouts and 633 saves as a four year prep.
McGuire joined the Hawkeyes this winter. Following the tour, she will return to Iowa to prepare with the Hawkeyes for the 2018 Field Hockey season.
