Kukla Jumps 14 Spots to Lead Iowa in Round 3

Tucson, Ariz. -- Senior Morgan Kukla jumped 14 spots on the leaderboard to pace the University of Iowa women’s golf team on the final day of the Arizona Wildcat Invitational on Tuesday. Iowa placed 16th with a three-round score of 915 (+51).

Top-ranked UCLA finished first with a 54-hole score of 846 (-18). No. 21 Arizona (856, -8) finished second and No. 7 Texas (860, -4) rounded out the top three.

KUKLA’S STRONG ROUND 3

After a disappointing first day, senior Morgan Kukla came out strong in round three. She fired three birdies on the front nine, finishing with a third-round score of 74 (+2). Kukla carded a 54-hole total of 232 (+16), jumping 14 spots on the leaderboard to tie for 69th.

COMPETING INDIVIDUALLY

Sophomore Sarah Overton finished her Hawkeyes debut by moving up two spots on the individual leaderboard. She carded an 18-hole score of 79 (+7) in round three, finishing the tournament with a 54-hole score of 236 (+20) to tie 80th.
