Peoria, Ariz. -- University of Iowa senior Jessica Ip carded a career-best 18-hole score of 67 (-5) in the second round to lead the women’s golf team through the first 36-holes at the Westbrook Spring Invitational on Sunday. Iowa sits in 14th after the first two-rounds with a 36-hole total of 582 (+6) – the third-best score in program history.
Nebraska sits in first place with a 36-hole score of 556 (-20). They are followed by No. 17 Oklahoma (558, -18) and Ohio State (559, -17).
IP’S CAREER DAY
Jessica Ip utilized six birdies in the second round to card a career-best 18-hole score of 67 (-5) – a mark that ties for first in program history. Her 36-hole score of 142 (-2) is tied for fifth in program history. The senior is tied for 18th with one round left to play.
COMPETING INDIVIDUALLY
Freshman Rachel Fujitani made her Hawkeye debut today competing as an individual. She carded a two-round score of 150 (+6). She is tied 70th heading into the third round. Sophomore Sophie Liu is 85th after carding a 36-hole score of 160 (+16).
