One Killed in Southwest Iowa Crash

SHENANDOAH, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- A southwest Iowa man is dead and a teen is in the hospital following a single vehicle crash Sunday afternoon.

According to an Iowa State Patrol crash report, it happened around 3 p.m. in Shenandoah.

Troopers said 24-year-old Tyler Gobert of Shenandoah was driving a Honda Element east on East Nishna Avenue when he lost control for an unknown reason, drove through a yard, crossed South Elm Street, and hit a tree.

The Patrol said a 15-year-old child was a passenger in the vehicle. Emergency crews took both Gobert and the teen to a hospital.

Troopers are still investigating the crash.
