BENTON COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- One person is dead and four others are hurt after a single vehicle crash in Benton County.
Nabintu Baguma, 28, from Cedar Rapids, was driving on Highway 30 at 5:25 a.m. on January 4 when they tried to pass a semi.
While passing, the car was met by another in the lane. To avoid a collision, Baguma swerved onto the south shoulder.
Baguma lost control of the car and went into the south ditch, where the vehicle rolled and a passenger was ejected.
Baguma, 50-year-old Zrephyre Kasigwa, 43-year-old Yaya Iddy, and 46-year-old Olusina Oladipo Coker were taken to Saint Luke's Hospital for injuries.
Aziza Nikuze,40, died from injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital, but later transported to a funeral home.
The driver and all passengers were from Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
