A Cedar Rapids woman who got a heart transplant as a teenager was part of the Tournament of Roses parade in Pasadena, California.
Hailey Steimel and others were on the Donate Life float went on Monday.
The annual parade features hundreds of floats. Steimel underwent heart transplant surgery nearly four years ago when she was 17 years old.
Since then she has become an advocate for organ donation. This year she got to be a part of the parade because of her story and her efforts.
