Iowa Projects Receive Funding

The state has awarded $1.3 million in grants for five projects throughout Iowa.

One of the famous covered bridges of Madison County that arsonists destroyed is getting money to rebuild. The project is getting $275,770.

Pinicon Ridge Park received $400,000 to redevelop the site of a former park shop facility into a scenic overlook for public use. It will include a 9,400 square foot open shelter with a deck and patio. The structure could serve up to 300 people.

A trail from Eglin to Gilbertson Park is getting money to expand. The project is getting $216,000 to create a new part of the Turkey River Recreational Corridor Trail. Specifically, there will be a bridge across the Turkey River.
