A passing motorist found a car stolen from Cedar County in the middle of the Skunk River in Washington County.
The Washington County Communications Office said about 9:40 p.m. Saturday a caller told them about the car, which had its hazard lights on, and water coming up to the bottom of the windows. Authorities said the car was near Dogwood Avenue, west of Brinton Timbers Park.
Washington County Sheriff's deputies said no one was in the car, which was towed from the scene.
