Fayette Co. Man Sentenced to 15 Years

A judge has sentenced a Fayette County convicted felon to more than 15 years in federal prison for having a shotgun and ammunition in a car in June 2016.

42-year-old Kyle Boleyn pleaded guilty in June to being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. He admitted on June 16, 2016, he was a passenger in a car driving around Oelwein when police stopped the vehicle. Officers also found materials used to make methamphetamine.

Boleyn already had at least seven prior felony convictions, including for making and delivering meth, sexual abuse, and violation of a sex registry law.

The federal judge sentenced Boleyn to 188 months in prison. He must also serve a five-year term of supervised release after the prison term.
