K9 Officer Finds Elusive Jo Davies Co. Woman

On Sunday, Dec. 17 just after 9 p.m., the Jo Daviess County Sheriff's Office assisted the Lena Police Department and the Stephenson County Sheriff's Office with a vehicle pursuit.

The pursuit, traveling westbound on U.S. Route 20, entered Jo Daviess County and continued westbound through Stockton.

Stop sticks were successfully deployed by a Jo Daviess County Deputy on U.S. Route 20 and South Evans Road east of Woodbine. This resulted in the driver stopping the vehicle on Chicago Street near Woodbine Road and fleeing on foot.

A Jo Daviess County K9 was then used to track the driver of the vehicle, 41-year-old Marilyn R. Fair. Fair was then located hiding in a pile of leaves and tree limbs in a yard.

Fair was taken into custody without incident and was transported to the Stephenson County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff Kevin Turner would like to remind the public that all subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
