Dubuque Co. Fire Destroys over $70,000

DUBUQUE COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- A fire destroyed over $70,000 worth of items in an Epworth shed Wednesday night.

The Dubuque County Sheriff's Office says four fire departments responded to 23473 Seymour Lane at about 7:30 p.m. for a shed fire. When crews arrived on scene they found the building was fully engulfed.

Firefighters from Epworth, Farley, Peosta, and Holy Cross were able to put out the fire. The fire destroyed all of the things inside the shed.

The owner of the shed says there was farm equipment and about 40 round bales of corn stalks inside.

An estimated $75,000 - $85,000 worth of items were destroyed.

Investigators are still trying to figure out how the fire started. They do not believe it was suspicious.
