ICPD Investigating Armed Robbery

IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) -- Iowa City Police say they are investigating an armed robbery at a Walgreens pharmacy.

This was at 2214 Muscatine Ave. just before midnight on November 25.

Police say the robbery that occurred at the store’s pharmacy.

They say two people went up to the pharmacy counter and got the pharmacist’s attention.

They then hopped over the counter after one of the suspects showed a handgun in his waistband.

Police have not said how much medication they took.

The suspects then left the store and were not located by responding officers.

The pharmacist was not injured.

The suspects were described as two black males, one wearing gray sweatpants, a gray hooded sweatshirt, and black shoes. The other was wearing a dark jacket, dark green pants, white shoes, and a black, flat-billed cap.

Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers is offering a reward of up to $1000 for information leading to the arrest of the suspects. Anyone with information about this crime is urged to contact CrimeStoppers at 358-TIPS (8477).
