ANAMOSA, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- Donating stuff you and your kids don't need anymore could support families who need help.
The Kids Toys and Clothes Community Sale in Anamosa is happening next month, but they're accepting donations now.
All the money collected from the sale goes back to the Jones County Family Council and it helps pay for low-cost community events to even offering help and classes on parenting.
It's a non-profit organization working to strengthen families and prevent child abuse.
They're accepting anything from toys, clothing, books... basically whatever items a kid might need.
These items are sold at very low cost to families during the sale next month.
The Jones County Family Council says a lot of these donated items will help families celebrate a Christmas this year.

"When we do have families that come through that say that they bought their Christmas there that day or it was the first Christmas that they've ever been able to provide for their family," says Rachel Williams, the coordinator with the Jones Family Council.
Clothing and items for older children like elementary school, middle school highschool-age kids is something they're desperately in need of this year -- especially items geared towards boys.
The sale is open to the public Friday, December 1 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. and Saturday, December 2 from 9:00 a.m. -2:00 p.m. at Anamosa Middle School.
