IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The 25th-ranked University of Iowa field hockey team earned the No. 6 seed in the 2017 Big Ten Tournament. The Hawkeyes (7-10; 3-5) will face third-seeded and sixth-ranked Penn State (14-3, 6-2) in University Park, Pennsylvania, on Sunday, Oct. 29 at 11 a.m. (CT).
Penn State defeated the Hawkeyes, 3-0, on Sept. 15. Iowa registered 12 shots in the match, including six by sophomore Katie Birch.
The semifinals and championship match of the Big Ten Tournament are scheduled for Friday, Nov. 3 and Sunday, Nov. 5 at Ralph Young Field in East Lansing, Michigan.
