MANCHESTER, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- According to minutes from a special Board of Education meeting held on October 11, one student was suspended for ten days "from the date of the incident on 9/29/17.
At the same meeting a student was expelled for the remainder of the 2017-2018 school year.
West Delaware Superintendent Kristen Rickey returned one phone call saying she couldn't comment on specifics of the case. Manchester Police Chief James Hauschild tells TV9 charges were filed following an investigation into reports someone brought a firearm to West Delaware High School.
"The Manchester Police Department responded to a complaint of a juvenile who may have been in possession of a firearm in the parking lot of West Delaware High School on September 29, 2017," said Hauschild. "The incident was investigated by law enforcement and the appropriate charges were prepared. The case has been turned over to juvenile authorities."
