CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Plan on a much cooler day, with rain moving in as well. The best chance of rain will be from mid-morning and beyond, with the most widespread rain occurring this afternoon into the evening.
Once the rain starts, the temperature climb will be over and a fall to the upper 40s and lower 50s will be common. This will be a cold October rain - much moreso than the past system.
Most places will end up in the half inch to one inch range by the end of the evening. Thunderstorms remain possible, which could create locally higher rainfall totals in excess of one inch.
