CR Fire Crews Battle Fire at Vacant Home

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- Cedar Rapids police say crews are battling a fire at a vacant home on the southeast side of the city.

Authorities tell TV9 firefighters responded just before 3 a.m. to 1504 6th Avenue southeast.

When Cedar Rapids Police arrived at the scene the front porch and entire 1st floor were in flames.

By the time firefighters got to the scene the fire had extended to the second floor.

The fire department says the damage is significant and most likely a total loss.

The fire is still under investigation
