IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Iowa softball team went 1-1-1 at the Big 4 Classic, topping Drake (6-5), tying in-state rival Iowa State (3-3), and falling to Northern Iowa (3-0).
Kenzie Ihle threw seven strikeouts on the weekend, while Erin Riding had six strikeouts. Ashley Yoways chipped in one strikeout.
Offensively, Mallory Kilian and Angela Schmiederer led the Hawkeyes with six hits on the weekend, and each scored a run. Aralee Bogar recorded three hits and scored three runs, while Allie Wood registered two hits and scored a run. Cheyenne Pratt, Sarah Kurtz, and Taylor Libby also chipped in hits. Pratt scored a run as well.
The Hawkeyes finish the fall slate Sunday, playing a doubleheader against Northern Illinois at Pearl Field. First pitch is slated for 1 p.m. (CT), and each game will be seven innings.Admission is free.
