The state's drought situation is getting better. That's according to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor report released yesterday that said close to 43-percent of the state is under no drought conditions.
In the last week, each drought category improved and that includes the area under extreme drought.
The western and northern parts of the state are living under the best conditions while parts of south central Iowa continues to struggle through extreme drought.
