The University of Iowa soccer team continues Big Ten action with a pair of matches in Michigan this weekend. The Hawkeyes travel to Ann Arbor on Friday to face Michigan (5-2-4) at 6:30 p.m. (CT) before facing Michigan State (4-7-0) on Sunday in East Lansing at noon.

THE SERIES
• Michigan leads the all-time series, 17-3-2. In 2013, the Hawkeyes defeated the Wolverines 1-0 at the Big Ten tournament. Before that Iowa hadn’t taken down Michigan since 2009 in Iowa City.
• Michigan State leads the all-time series, 10-6-5. Iowa’s last victory in the series came on the road in 2014. The Hawkeyes goal was scored off a corner kick booted by then sophomore Corey Burns.

SCOUTING MICHIGAN
• Michigan collected four points last weekend, tying Minnesota, 2-2, and knocking off No. 9 Wisconsin, 2-1, in overtime. The Wolverines are 5-2-4 overall.
• The Wolverines are tied for fourth in the Big Ten with Rutgers, Purdue, and Northwestern. Each team has seven points in conference standings.
• Michigan has allowed nine goals through 11 games for an average of .82 goals per game. The Wolverines have posted four shutouts and held five opponents to just one goal.
• Goalkeeper Sarah Jackson leads the conference in saves per game, averaging 6.4 per outing, and is also second in the conference in save percentage at .882.
SCOUTING MICHIGAN STATE
• Michigan State is 0-4-0 in Big Ten play this season and 4-7-0 overall. The Spartans’ last victory came over Oakland (1-0) on Sept. 3 in East Lansing.
• The Spartans are averaging 9.7 shots per game.
• Senior Jamie Cheslik has a team leading five goals and two assists.
• Goalkeeper Reilley Ott is second in the Big Ten in saves (56).
