New Words Added to Dictionary

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (CNN) -- Meriam-Webster is adding more than 250 words to its dictionary.

Some added are political, like the 'alt-right' and 'dog whistle.'

Other words added are slang and are now being recognized by the dictionary company.

'Froyo' was added, which is a shorter way to say frozen yogurt.

Some technology and computer terms were also added, including 'ransomware' and 'troll.'

For some words, new definitions were added.

'Pre-game' made the list, which isn't just a term for before a football game, but is also used to describe drinking before going out to an event or activity.
