Cedar Rapids Fire Department Rescues Man From Cedar River

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- Cedar Rapids Fire Department pulled a man from under the 2nd Avenue Bridge on September 20.

When fire rescue crews arrived they found a man in the water under the bridge.

They secured a life jacket on him while crews got an inflatable boat to get him out of the water.

Crews were able to rescue him near 1st Sreet and 1st Avenue.

He was conscious and breathing when they found him and was transported to a local hospital.

The department is interviewing the man to find out why he was under the bridge.
