IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- Iowa City Police are searching for a semi truck they said ran over a girl's foot and continued driving.
Police said it happened about 3:40 p.m. Monday on U.S. 6 at Sycamore Street. Officers said the 13-year-old girl was trying to cross U.S. 6 with a green light for traffic on Sycamore Street. The eastbound white semi truck entered the intersection against a red light and ran over the teen's foot, also spinning her around. The truck continued eastbound on U.S. 6.
Officers said the girl was able to walk out of the intersection while suffering pain in her foot and minor scrapes to her leg and arm. An ambulance took her to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for treatment.
Police ask anyone with information about the incident or the white semi truck involved to call investigating Officer Doug Roling at (319) 356-5275.
