Plan on a quick temperature rise in the morning sunshine, but as afternoon clouds build, the temperatures will level off. Plan on mid-60s around northeast Iowa this afternoon with upper 60s elsewhere.
The wind will make it feel cooler, especially with the clouds this afternoon. Wind gusts to 30 mph again look likely.
Tonight, temperatures will fall down to the 40s area-wide with the potential for a few upper 30s in valley and sheltered areas. While cool, this is very typical of September.
