Police are investigating a string of car thefts after a car chase in HiawathaAround 4 a.m. Thursday, Hiawatha Police caught 19-year-old Derek Morrison after a brief car chase that ended at Five Seasons trailer park off of Blairs Ferry Road.
Police believe this is connected to six different reported car theft cases from Wednesday night in the Hiawatha area. In each case, the victim had left their car unlocked.
Dennis Marks from the Hiawatha Police believes these reports may be connected to a handful of similar reports from Marion earlier this week, but officers are still investigating.
